MISSION
The mission of Neighborhood Housing Services of New Orleans is:
To create and sustain healthy and vibrant neighborhoods through real estate development, education, and community building activities that improve the quality of life for all residents.
Our work is informed and shaped by the belief that shelter is a basic human need, decent and adequate housing is the key to the quality of life for individuals and families, and all people should have the opportunity to access quality affordable housing.
We believe that neighborhood revitalization is best done in a manner that benefits all people, both new and long-time residents, regardless of socio-economic status, race and ethnicity, and other elements of community diversity.
We believe that real, sustained neighborhood revitalization is most effectively achieved when the long-term good of the neighborhood is the shared responsibility and joint endeavor of residents, businesses, local government, and other stakeholders.
